I’m in Iowa for a week to spend time with my parents.

My mom busted her knee recently jumping on a trampoline (a forever youthful spirit) and her guy Casey, who is like my stepdad, starts chemo therapy tomorrow.

Not an ideal family trip but everyone is in great spirits and expecting a full recovery.

I chose to drive out from Texas so I could bring Ness (their favorite grandson) and help a little bit, I “work” a few hours during the day and we’ve been able to enjoy some really meaningful family time together.

It’s a good place to be to have the ability to pick up and take a week off without asking anyone permission, and on top of it I get the opportunity to bless them with a little cash to make this season a little easier.

I don’t share this to brag, but to paint a picture of possibility, because someone in every family has the opportunity to be the one.

One to break chains, create freedom and be a blessing to others.
