Man shot after pointing a gun at Xenia police officers

On June 30, 2024, the Xenia Police Division responded to reports of gunfire at an apartment complex on Bellbrook Avenue. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Kyle Berry, was seen firing a gun and allegedly pointing it at a bystander. When officers arrived, Berry reportedly aimed his weapon at them, prompting the officers to shoot, injuring Berry. He was transported to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment and later taken into custody on July 2 after being discharged.
