We acquire habits by our way of living. By repeating a task continuously, our subconscious mind remembers the attempts, and goes on to replicate them whenever a similar task is presented to us. Some of the habits are negative in nature. The same way you acquired the habit without conscious thought should be the same process to be used in deactivating negative habits. Good luck
