There have been reports that fake news websites, which appear to be U.S. media, are flooded with Kremlin-backed propaganda. Russia's tactics include using AI, social media influencers, and fake personas to spread chaos. Meanwhile, Americans who have threatened election officials are being prosecuted. Unsealed documents urge citizens to think critically about everything they read online.

Mark Zuckerberg revealed that the FBI had warned him about potential misinformation regarding the Biden family, which led to Facebook limiting the distribution of the New York Post's story on Hunter Biden's laptop. The FBI was aware of the laptop's authenticity since December 2019, yet chose to try to get the story taken down on social media to help Joe Biden win the election.
