*Charles is teaching on Steps of Obedience
Jesse is teaching on Not Looking Back
*Charles is gifted to weld his Scriptural teachings to his revolving door testimony and produce a message that contains practical help for us in our daily walk as Christians. Ps 37:23-24 though we fall the Lord upholds us. When we walk in disobedience the Lord can put us in a place where He can get our attention. Obedience is tied into sacrifice. 1 Sam 15:22 The further we turn our ear from Him the fainter His voice can become. The first of several examples for steps of obedience is Jonah. God prepares the fish! He can walk us through some very hard times to bring us out to testify. Obedience is letting the Holy Spirit lead us, trusting in God's will for our lives, putting others before us and living a life that is Christ-centered. You can't be "half step". You have to be all in for God. To walk in obedience is to understand the true fear of God. He shares a chilling testimony of what happened to his wife when he fell back into sin which removed the hedge of protection over his family. Referencing the prodigal son, He states that generally, nine times out of ten when starting over in steps of obedience, that first step is one of humility. We must ask the Lord, "Is there any step that I am taking that is in disobedience to you?"
**Luke 9:61-62 Looking back will keep us unfit for the Kingdom of God. We have to run forward and not put our hands to the plow. This thing is real. We are a target of the enemy, a threat to the kingdom of darkness, which puts us in spiritual warfare every single day. The only thing we want to look back at is where God brought us from! Luke 17:28-32 Don't be like Lot's wife. It's a danger zone. She shares heart wrenching personal testimony of the climb out of a life of hurt, rebellion and drugs and some of the consequences that resulted. She had a mother and father that hated each other but deep down she did not want to be like that. She reached a point where she chose to forgive and take personal responsibility for her choices. She knew the Bible would work, that the Word of God would heal her. God began to put things in order in her life as she continued to learn to not look back. She prepared herself to not be rejected by her family's lack of confidence that she had changed, because of her previous track record. We need to take off the graveclothes, the self-pity that glues us to the past. Ungratefulness and unthankfulness will destroy you. It's time to not be comfortable with the demons. Service concludes with them both speaking prayers of deliverance.
