On January 28, 2024, an employee at the Speedway Gas Station located at 24940 Mound Road called the Warren Police Department after a man refused to leave the store. The man had been playing loud music inside the store, causing a disturbance. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man with a dog. The officers instructed the man to leave the store or face arrest. In response, the man tied the dog's leash around his waist, seemingly preparing for a confrontation.

One of the officers on the scene mentioned that the man had previously been seen with a pair of scissors and a large knife, raising concerns about potential danger. Despite repeated warnings, the man refused to comply with the officers' orders. As a result, the police deployed their tasers to subdue him. Unfortunately, one of the taser prongs struck the dog as well. The man was quickly handcuffed, searched, and then transported to a patrol vehicle before being taken to jail. After the man was secured, officers brought the dog's owner inside the store, to retrieve the dog. The owner informed the officers that the man was his Uncle. An officer removed the taser prong from the dog, who was then released to go home with his owner.
