Parts of a reconstructed fighter belonging to the pilot of the 26th Fighter Aviation Regiment, Lieutenant Alexei Sevastyanov.
On November 4, 1941, in the skies above Leningrad, Alexei Sevastyanov with his I-153 rammed a German bomber. The Soviet pilot bailed out.
He later flew a MiG-3 but on April 23, 1942, Sevastyanov was shot down by German fighters during takeoff. The plane and the pilot were never found by search teams. He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
The wreckage of the plane with the body of the pilot in the cockpit was found only in 1971.
