I was converted by beauty

I converted to Catholicism because of how deeply beautiful the religion is–from the devotion to Mother Mary, the Eucharist, and the Mass. Beauty is synonymous with Truth and Goodness and therefore has a unique power to convert hearts to God, the ultimate author of beauty. Why then is beauty being persecuted everywhere?
