The Bible tells us that there are “spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”, meaning that there is an unseen battle that is being waged over us and around us. The evil forces are led by Satan, also known as the Devil, the Dragon, the Serpent (and other titles). Satan, also called Lucifer, was once a beautiful angel in Heaven who recruited one-third of the other angles in an attempted coup against God. But Satan lost that battle and was expelled from heaven, along with his army of angels (now known as “demons”), who roam the earth today “like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” In today’s teaching entitled “Crushing Satan”, Pastor Gary explains what spiritual warfare is, how we can withstand it, and how God will fight for His children!
