This practice, she explains, is about helping the brain heal itself by making it aware of its own issues. It’s a process of deepening one’s connection with the self, peeling back the layers of stress and trauma that accumulate over time. “Our nervous systems are stuck in fight or flight most of the time,” Elisabeth explains, highlighting how these practices help down-regulate the nervous system, bringing us into a state of peace and presence.
