Trent Loos –The Wisdom of our Founding Fathers to Fund Schools – “School Land”

This was brilliant foresight and makes you wonder where in the hell all the money is going.

I don’t think School Boards know how to manage money, let alone save money.

Nebraska schools receive 72% of the outrageously high property taxes, receive the land grant money and they still are short all the time and create bonds to fund their overspending habits.

We have a serious management problem.

The Founding Fathers had some unbelievable vision. Nebraska became a state in 1867 and the Federal Land Grant – granted land to fund schools.

Nebraska started out with 1/8th of the total land of Nebraska which is 2.9 Million Acres set aside to Fund schools. They could either sell it or they could lease it.

Today they only have 1.2 Million Acres.

If I had any say to this I would not sell another acre, even though prices are high, because we have a LAND GRAB agenda occurring right now and prices are artificially high in both land and property. See Source #2 below to learn all about what is going on with this.

Every school in the state of Nebraska gets the same amount of money per student.

The county Courthouse lets the State’s Landlord know how many school age children – 5-- 18 live in a designated School District.

That number is multiplied by 160 and the school receives this amount of money.

In the School Budget this is listed under 3200 and it’s called “Apportionment.”

Once again, the ability for our Founding Fathers to envision that this could fund schools is amazing.

But we have major spending problems at the schools. The more money given to schools the more they spend. They don’t understand the concept of saving money for a rainy day. Schools are completely dependent on taxes now.

It’s monkey see monkey do from town to town on who can build the best gymnasium and all kinds of other bullsh*t.
