It makes sense that you can't have the Yamato use this weapon in normal play.

It makes sense if you want to take into account of what the original series was all about.
It will make one heck of a MAP weapon but if you actually can use it as such in the game, it will devalue the basic principles of the Space Battleship Yamato series.
