The U.S. government will pay American farmers hurt by the trade war with China.
Farmers are to receive between $15 and $150 per acre in an aid package totaling $16 billion.
Officials said Thursday that disbursements will be made according to geographic area, rather than crop.
Reuters reports farmers in the South are likely to see higher rates than in the Midwest. Assistance begins in mid-to-late August
