Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has rejected former President Trump’s proposal to mandate insurance coverage for in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments, suggesting instead a means-tested tax credit for IVF.

Trump had proposed that either the government or insurance companies should cover IVF if he is elected.

Graham argued that mandating coverage could lead to endless demands and emphasized support for IVF through tax credits.

The Trump campaign’s IVF proposal has drawn criticism from Vice President Harris’s campaign, which accused Trump of lying and argued that his platform could jeopardize IVF and abortion access, The Hill has reported.
