This is the battle of David and Goliath: a small neighborhood rat and a snake many times its size. All nature channels have always taught us that rodents are the snack of choice for almost every snake, but oh no, not this brave rodent.

The epic battle between a snake and a neighborhood rat took place on May 22, 2018, in Seminole, Florida, USA. The sight was so astounding for the makers of the video, that they stopped their car and were just compelled to capture the unusual moment and share it with us, for a little bit of edification. We can see a medium-sized rat biting the tail of what appears to be a non-venomous constrictor which is born and raised on mice as its staple food.

But, the years of hunting experience do not come to aid to the snake when this resilient and resolute rat comes in question. Even though it avoided the head of the snake, the rat gives blow after blow along the snakes’ body weakening its striking powers until the point it totally overcomes its prey. We can even see the victorious rodent take away the snake as a souvenir.
