A Trip to the Moon / Ταξίδι στη Σελήνη [1902]

Το Ταξίδι στη Σελήνη (πρωτότυπος τίτλος: Le Voyage dans la Lune, διεθνής τίτλος: A Trip to the Moon) είναι μία γαλλική βωβή ταινία του 1902, σε σκηνοθεσία, παραγωγή και σενάριο Ζωρζ Μελιές. Το σενάριο είναι εμπνευσμένο σε δύο έργα του Ιούλιου Βερν: το Από τη Γη στη Σελήνη και το Γύρω από τη Σελήνη. Η ταινία αφηγείται την ιστορία μίας ομάδας αστροναυτών, οι οποίοι πάνε στο φεγγάρι, με τη βοήθεια μίας κάψουλας-ρουκέτας, η οποία ανατινάζει την επιφάνεια του. Εκεί θα βρουν τους κατοίκους του φεγγαριού (Selenites), και κατά την επιστροφή τους στη γη θα φέρουν κι έναν αιχμάλωτο. Στην ταινία πρωταγωνιστούν εξέχοντες ηθοποιοί του θεάτρου εκείνης της εποχής, ενώ πρωταγωνιστής είναι και ο ίδιος ο Μελιές.

A Trip to the Moon (French: Le voyage dans la lune)[a] is a 1902 French science-fiction adventure trick film written, directed and produced by Georges Méliès. Inspired by Jules Verne's 1865 novel From the Earth to the Moon and its 1870 sequel Around the Moon, the film follows a group of astronomers who travel to the Moon in a cannon-propelled capsule, explore the Moon's surface, escape from an underground group of Selenites (lunar inhabitants), and return to Earth with a captive Selenite. Méliès leads an ensemble cast of French theatrical performers as the main character Professor Barbenfouillis.
