THE END OF THIS WORLD; WHAT EXACLY IS IT

Scriptures reveal to us in 2Pe 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
2Pe 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
The writer wrote about "the heavens and the earth" as in this entire universe once was completely destroyed by overflowing water(2Peter 3:6), but now it's being reserved for fire.
Lucifer and his angels have defiled the heavens yes the entire universe with their evil character and bringing destruction to other planets and there must be a cleansing for all. Romans 8:20 - 22

The day will come when the heavenly government of God will be here on this earth, man's government will end and be no more.
Job_14:12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
According to Job this is at the time of the resurrection, (till the heavens be no more) the transition from heavens to Heaven.
However at Christ return it is not the end of all flesh .

The works of man will come to an end, it was dismantled and vanishes.
The Day of the Lord is not just a day or ten years but rather from the time when the Lord takes over until death and all evil cast in the lake of fire.
2Pe_3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Everything will burn up then this seems like the end of the world doesn't it.

Mat_13:49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever(divide, separate, sever) the wicked from among the just,

Let us remember that the Day of the Lord begins with Christ's arrival and marks the concludes man's time in authority.

The End of the World is the End of man's evil, God separating evil, and destroying it all.
Heb 1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
Heb 1:11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
Heb 1:12 And as a vesture(Something that covers or cloaks like a garment) shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
One of the purpose for which God want to melt down this present earth is to totally eliminate all evidence of evil/sin and anything we have done that is damaging to each other so that there is no evidence of that at all. Therefore, God will change the heavens and the earth as a man changed his garment and folds it up.
