The Tears of Jesus

“In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death” (Hebrews 5:7).

It’s such an odd way to describe Jesus – as one who sobs and cries and is highly emotional – most especially when we contrast this depiction with the behaviour of Jesus’ representatives here on earth, who are generally rather restrained and conservative.

Are the tears of Jesus something we still need to come to terms with? Who is Jesus weeping for in our world today. Do we need to be weeping with Him?
