Bu arada Hindistan'da Müslüman siyasetçi Imtiaz Jaleel, rahip Ramgiri'yi protesto ettiği için tutuklandı. Bunun üzerine iki Müslüman kardeş, Ramgiri tutuklanana ya da kendileri ölene kadar bir şey yiyip içmemeye yemin ederek açlık grevine başladılar.
