When an Entitled Customer Turns a Petty Retail Dispute into Serious Criminal Charges

On May 22, 2023 in Florida, officers responded to a call of a woman causing a disturbance over a refund. The caller, an employee of the store, said that the woman requested a refund on an item she had already received a replacement for the previous day. When the employee advised the woman that he wasn't going to refund the item, she became aggressive, and at one point, while he was recording her behavior, she struck him. When officers arrived on scene, they found the two arguing near the door and separated them. This is body cam footage of the events that followed.
