A Michigan man named Darrell Jarrell was ordered to serve more than a year behind bars after a Profane Outburst during a videotaped court hearing.
Judge J. Cedric Simpson from Washtenaw County was met with 45-year-old defendant Darrell Lester Jarrell during a pre-trial hearing for a trespassing case.
Because Jarrell does not have email or a phone number and is only able to be contacted by P.O. box, Simpson offered to move back his court date to give him more time to talk to his public defender. Jarrel did not like the suggestion and told Judge Simpson he wanted to wrap up the case so he could leave Michigan and started to curse him out which leads to his 558 days jail time for misdemeanor.
The judge quickly moved on to the next case for defendant Keith Jenkins, whose jaw dropped to the floor in shock during Jarrell’s blowup as he waited his turn on a Zoom call.
