Recipe: 11 Ounces of water (warmed) & 2 Teaspoons of active dry yeast, you may add 1 and a half Tablespoons of oil now or while mixing all the ingredients together later. Some people will add a 1/4 to a 1/2 a Teaspoon of sugar (to activate the yeast faster) while the liquid sits.

Build your fire up hot and allow the fire to then drop down so that the cooking area is about 350-400 degrees F. Add small sticks to the fire, opening/closing draft and/or opening and closing oven door so that a baking temperature is maintained at 350-400 degrees F.

With 4 Cups of flour in a mixing bowl, add remainder of sugar (of the 1 Tablespoon) and 1 and a 1/2 Teaspoons of table salt and mix, then knead until a smooth ball. Grease baking pan with veg shortening or rub with a light oil (the entire inside surface). Place in warm area and allow to "rise" a minimum of double the height- but try to let rise 3 times the height (usually will take 45 to 60 minutes) Note: most bakers will punch down after a long rise and let rise again. I don't- your choice.

Bake as close as you can to 350 degrees F for a minimum of 30 minutes (plus or minus 5 minutes) based off of your ability to maintain 350 degrees F during baking process. If it gets WAY hot, ie; you put too many sticks in, this is why it's best to use small pieces of wood but if it gets too hot- don't be afraid to stop your clock and pull the pan out until your cooking area is back to around 350 degrees.
