They guide importers in obtaining the appropriate customs bond, which is a financial guarantee for payment of duties, taxes, or fees owed to the CBP. Customs brokers are also responsible for managing and preparing customs documents, communicating and coordinating with the CBP, and acting as a liaison between importers and other parties involved in the importation process.
