Today marks day 203 of my sobriety journey, and I spent some time reflecting while listening to Ren's live version of "Bittersweet Symphony." Before diving into the music, I talked about how surfing, in many ways, parallels my past addiction to cocaine. The rush, the highs, and the inevitable crashes—there’s a strange similarity there that I couldn’t ignore. I also delved into the importance of self-relationship, emphasizing how crucial it is to be a good friend to yourself. The strongest relationship we have in life is with ourselves, and it’s vital to have your own back, especially during tough times.

As for the music, Ren's live rendition was breathtaking. I’ve heard the street version before, but this live performance truly resonated with me. Watching the video brought back memories of my second apartment in Sweden, with Ren performing outside some high-rises that reminded me so much of how I used to live. It was a nostalgic experience, and it made me appreciate Ren’s artistry even more. His music continues to inspire and uplift, reminding me of how far I’ve come and what lies ahead.
