Telegram failed to engage with governments, says tech analyst

Telegram’s lack of engagement with governments contributed to the arrest of the platform’s CEO Pavel Durov, according to analyst Katie Harbath. A French judge put Russian-born Durov under formal investigation on Wednesday for suspected complicity in running an online platform that allows illicit transactions, child sex abuse images, drug trafficking and fraud.
