We take a closer look at the aircraft dear to every Irkutsk aircraft manufacturer: the Yakvolev Yak-28. Even today this machine meets and greets all the workers of the factory on the stele at the entrance.

The Yak-28 became the first supersonic aircraft in the history of IAZ. The project was mass-produced, reaching 697 units and became a real benchmark for the company. From the late 1950s to the early 1970s, IAZ produced the Yak-28 in bomber, reconnaissance, electronic warfare and training versions.
