Senator: Top security roles should be filled by Irish citizens

Independent Senator Gerard Craughwell says he was "castigated" in the Seanad for saying that the vacant Deputy Garda Commissioner role should be filled by an Irish citizen:

"No country anywhere would employ a foreign national to head up their State security service."
