Selenga 2024 joint Russian-Mongolian military exercise comes to end in Mongolia

29.08.24 The solemn closing ceremony of the exercise took place at a field camp near the town of Choibalsan.

The units of our countries showed high professional training and combat coherence of the personnel,’ Acting Commander of the Eastern Military District Lieutenant General Mikhail Nosulev said in his welcoming address to the participants of the exercise.

Then units of the Eastern Military District and the Armed Forces of Mongolia taking part in the manoeuvres marched solemnly in front of the exercise leadership podium.

The event ended with a concert performance on the stage of the field camp by Russian artists from the Republic of Buryatia.

The Selenga joint Russian-Mongol military exercise is aimed at fighting international terrorism. Every year, various episodes of tactical actions are trained and new techniques of modern warfare are practised.

This year, units of the Ground Forces, Aerospace Forces, and Special Operations Forces of the Russian Federation Armed Forces as well as units of the Armed Forces of Mongolia consisting of up to 700 men and about 200 units of special military equipment were involved in the exercise. Source
