How to Split a Hive | Step-by-step tutorial from a Beekeeper [Beekeeping 201] - SPRING 2022

Spring is here, which means it's time to learn how to split a hive! This technique allows you to control the "swarm" and gives the flexibility needed for a successful hive split on YOUR time. In this step-by-step beekeeping tutorial we temporarily place the queen of a hive in a queen catcher (clip), and utilize resources from the current hive to start and supplement the split hive. John gives excellent advice for anyone attempting to split their hives this Spring. 2022 is your year for maximizing your bees' health and wellness.
