A road rage incident escalated into a high-speed chase and a rollover crash in Ashland on Sunday afternoon, leading to the arrest of a suspect and involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

According to reports, the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Richland Post received several calls around 3:00 PM on August 25, 2024, about a male driver, identified as 28-year-old Nathan Brown of Akron, Ohio, who was allegedly seen pointing a firearm at another driver during a road rage incident. The situation quickly intensified when Brown attempted to evade law enforcement.

Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Ashland Post located Brown’s vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 71 near the 186-mile marker at approximately 3:13 PM. When officers tried to initiate a traffic stop, Brown refused to comply, leading to a pursuit that continued into the city of Ashland.

The chase was joined by officers from the Ashland Police Division and deputies from the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office as it proceeded onto U.S. Route 42. The pursuit ended violently when Brown lost control of his vehicle in a construction zone, causing it to roll over.

Despite the serious crash, Brown was apprehended at the scene without further incident and transported to the Ashland County Jail, where he is being held. Charges are currently pending a review by the Ashland County Prosecutor's Office.
