We open with an update on the Woke West’s ongoing assault on Free Speech…

Recently Blindspot delved into the so-called right wing protests in the UK, as well as the country’s newly minted Online Safety Act, which, according to most relatively sane people, is a legal instrument bound not to make things safe for people at all, but, an authoritarian speech control mechanism. At that time the UK, for example, threatened to arrest Elon Musk, due to his comments on the riots in the country.

In terms of the UK case, Douglas MacKinnon, in an article published in The Hill, asks whether X could be banned, or Musk arrested by the UK.

“With each passing day, as the forces that control our nation and the world get more surreal and foreboding, the “unthinkable” suddenly morphs into the “inevitable.” At least for me. As someone who pays close attention to the politics and the media in the United Kingdom and Europe, I began to notice a shocking narrative emanating from a growing number on the left there calling for the arrest of Elon Musk as well as the cancellation of X, the social media site he owns.”

Well, it seems now that the UK did not get its way with the arrest, or banning of X, France stepped into the battle against Free Speech and summarily arrested creator and owner, Pavel Durov, of the Telegram application.

So here is a question, after all the millions upon millions of scams, fraud, phishing and such attacks and violations people have suffered on the Facebook platform, should Mark Schmuckerberg then not also be arrested for complicity in such criminality? Well, obviously not, because Vleisboek happily shares user data and ‘requested information’ with the three letter name agencies of the USA, and other governments!
