I Failed Growing Grass, Can Tilling Save Me?

I just picked up a Mantis Mini Tiller/Cultivator 7924. This little beast helped turn up our compacted soil, and get some nice grass growing in a part of our lawn that we always struggle with grass. It this is a success, I'll look into doing more of the lawn!
