Depression Therapy: Less Is More!💙

I was talking with my therapist today about a concept that had occurred to me that instead of looking for the newest piece of the puzzle that is going to complete the picture and make everything perfect, it can be more powerful to actually look at what's going on and see if there are things that you can give up rather than trying to gain more and more and more information.💙

So an example would be negative thinking or black and white thinking and they're kind of related because when we're depressed we often think in absolute terms and it's usually negative. So things like I always get stuff wrong or I should have done that thing better and those are often reflective of core beliefs of not feeling good enough, not being lovable, things like that.💙

So if you can work on giving up those things instead of seeing everything in black and white allowing space for shades of gray then that's a way of freeing yourself up that can actually be more powerful than constantly looking for the latest newest piece of the puzzle to help complete the jigsaw.💙
