From civilians to soldiers. These Ukrainian recruits are being trained in frontline combat skills. On the 33rd anniversary of their country's independence from the Soviet Union, these men and women are on British soil learning to fight for their freedom.
— We are teaching Ukrainians how to use rifles, to shoot accurately at a distance and to use special ammunition to fight mines, which are now very common in Ukraine.
— Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, 45,000 Ukrainians have been trained by allied forces. These recruits are ordinary men and women. Some of them have only been in the UK for a few days. And now they are already undergoing intensive training in a forest near the English countryside. They are being taught skills that could save their lives.
