The History of the Red Poppy Program

You've probably seen those red crepe paper poppies before: at parades, in front of stores, at Miller Park. But do you know what they support, their history, and their meaning? The Poppy Program is part of the American Legion Auxiliary, the largest women's patriotic organization in the world. Joining us to discuss their work and National Poppy Day are Wisconsin ALA President Bonnie Jakubczyk and Vietnam Veteran James Miles. You can join the American Legion Auxiliary! Visit AMLegionAuxWI.org for more information. And be sure to make a donation when you see Poppies being distributed to support our veterans!
