The women in these communities, having suffered for years under his reign of terror, finally lost patience with the legal system’s failures. In a desperate act, hundreds of these women stormed a courtroom where Yadav was being held. They attacked him repeatedly, stabbing him around 70 times and even mutilating his body by cutting off his penis. By the end of the assault, Akku Yadav was dead, and the women had taken justice into their own hands.
