Democratic campaign of lies
By Terry A. Hurlbut
The Democratic National Convention has ended, and the Democratic election campaign now begins. But already a key feature of that campaign has made itself apparent. The Democratic Party seems to have decided that lying to the American people – even their own adherents – is the answer. Incredibly, they showed that even on the last night of their National Convention. And now even the legacy media are calling them out on their lies – the last thing anyone would expect.
Democratic National Convention ends on a lying tone
On Thursday evening (August 22), the last night of the Convention, Vice-President Kamala Harris scheduled her acceptance speech. (Donald Trump similarly gave his acceptance speech on the last night of the Republican National Convention.) Neither Trump nor the Republican Convention organizers ever relied on “headliners.” But Democrats did – as Kamala Harris did when she spoke in Atlanta. This time, the Convention organizers teased a “very special guest” who would appear before Harris’ speech. Rumors of who that guest would be, split three ways, among Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and even George W. Bush. Finally the TMZ network announced that Beyoncé would be the headliner.
Beyoncé never showed up. Now comes word that she was never going to show up. The Convention organizers used her name and never intended to engage her to book her appearance. Laura Loomer laid it on the line that night:

Which is worse? To announce, for a political event, a headliner famous for the explicitly sexual nature of her performances? Or to announce her under false pretenses? Notice that Loomer doesn’t blame TMZ. They got their information from the Convention organizers. Tellingly, the performer never acknowledged even negotiating a booking.
Equally telling, attendees were disappointed – and said so.
Media stop covering for Harris
The day after Harris made her acceptance speech, Joe Saunders at The Western Journal took note of a new phenomenon. It wasn’t even her saying “Thank you” 23 times in 42 seconds, as Michael Schwarz (and Donald Trump) noted.
Too many “Thank yous,” too rapidly said, what’s going on with her?

Organs like The New York Time, The Washington Post, and USA Today all said Harris’ speech was full of lies. For example, Trump never said, as Harris accused, that he would have an “anti-abortion coordinator” in his administration. (Apparently the Heritage Foundation suggested that as part of Project 2025 – the part other than the Trump Transition Job Bank.) Nor did Trump ever “encourage” Russian strong man Vladimir Putin to “invade our allies.” (Whether Ukraine is a worthy ally of the American people is debatable at best.) The New York Times, before the night was out, called “time out” on several others who spoke to the Convention before Harris. Of six points those other speakers made, the Times rated one as true. The rest either “need[ed] context” or, in one case, was “misleading.”
Harris might have made a problem for herself in part by refusing to hold press conferences. CNN’s Jim Acosta called her out on that publicly. More recently, John Harwood, formerly of CNN, said flatly that Kamala Harris didn’t give press conferences – because she was trying to win the election. And this did not satisfy him.

Besides her trademark cackle, her reputation as the most liberal U.S. Senator might explain her attitude.

Tim Walz lies about his background
Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate, now has lied twice about his own background. The country knows that he retired from the Minnesota National Guard at the rank of Master Sergeant – not Command Sergeant Major, as he’d said. Now the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce called him on another lie. In 2006, during his first run for Congress, he said the Nebraska Chamber named him Outstanding Young Nebraskan. According to Alpha News, the chamber denied having made such an award to him.
He also talked about carrying, into combat, a class of weapons he wanted taken out of civilian hands. That statement tells two lies in one. First, rifles like the AR-15 are not government-issue infantry weapons. (The AR-18, also known as the M-16, is capable of full-automatic fire; the AR-15 is not.) Second, Tim Walz never carried any sort of weapon into war because he was never in war. His National Guard unit never deployed overseas while he was serving in it. When it did receive an alert for such a deployment, Walz put in for retirement. Because he had not completed his Command Sergeant Major service obligation, he retired at a lower rank in consequence.
Walz also has a “driving under the influence” (DUI) arrest on his record. He claimed he had not been drinking, and failed a sobriety test by reason of an incident in the Guard that affected his hearing. CNN refuted all of that, basing their refutation on a court transcript.
Hypocrisy is another Democratic feature
Lately, Walz called out Sen. J. D. Vance (R-Ohio), his opponent, on having gotten a Yale education. Yet Walz surrounds himself with “Yalies.” Perhaps Walz’ real problem with Vance is that Yale never changed him into a leftist. (For the record, your editor also has a Yale degree.)
Apparently Jon Stewart, of Daily Show fame, took time Thursday to call out the Democratic National Committee for general hypocrisy.
NEW: Jon Stewart calls out the hypocrisy from the DNC for how they celebrated people who "prosecuted s*xual predators" but also had Bill Clinton give a speech.
These people all know the DNC is playing them as fools yet they will still cast their votes for Democrats.
“They had a guy (Bernie) yelling screw the billionaires followed immediately by a very happy billionaire (Pritzker).”
“They had guys making fun of people going to Yale in front of a bunch of people who went to Yale.”
“The Democrats had people who prosecuted s*xual predators, and [Stewart shows a photo of Bill Clinton]”

Everyone has known for some time that a Democrat finds it perfectly acceptable to have an Ivy League education, and a net worth in the billions – so long as the ideology of such people is a good match. In Vance’s case (and Elon Musk’s case), that’s not true. But it is for Jeff Bezos – and George and Alex Soros.
While this is happening…
In other campaign news, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr – who Friday announced a partnership with Donald Trump – teased more such action. In quoting a Trump War Room post about his voters breaking for Trump, Kennedy said:
This is only the beginning. Wait till you see the next additions to President Trump’s Unity Government. #UniteAmerica #MAHA
https://x.com/RobertKennedyJr/status/1827713904581161147
Who those “next additions” might be, Kennedy didn’t say – though several users began to speculate. Speculation centered on former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), and Elon Musk. Someone remembered that Trump himself was once a Democrat.
The “H” in that hashtag stands for Healthy – Make America Healthy Again. This refers to Kennedy’s signature issue: basic human health, including vaccine compulsion and an explosion of chronic disease.
The above posts – like the message of his new partnership with Trump – seems to be very well-received.
Kennedy wasn’t finished. This afternoon he posted this scathing critique of Harris’ performance as “Border Czar.”

An open border seems to be a Democratic signature issue – though again, they lie about that.
Kennedy also confirmed that he would remove his name from the ballot in “about ten” “swing States.” These could be “toss-up,” “tilting,” and “leaning” States per Ballotpedia’s criteria – though Kennedy did say he and Trump worked out which States those would be.
Once again, the Democrats have seventy-three days to “act right,” counting Election Day.
