Southeast Australia has hotter and drier summers and colder wetter winters. Although temperatures regularly soar above 95 degrees F, which is very typical of the American South, its woodlands keep growing. One of the more extreme and volatile ecosystems on the planet is defying meteorology and becoming greener. Go figure.
