Hezbollah statement announcing the start of a “major attack” deep into Israel

On Sunday morning, Hezbollah announced the start of an air attack with a large number of drones deep into Israel, following the latter’s announcement of launching a major pre-emptive attack in Lebanon.

A Hezbollah statement said that it attacked "a specific Israeli military target that will be announced later."

The statement added: "These military operations will take some time to be completed, after which a detailed statement will be issued about their course and objectives."

He explained that these attacks come in response to the assassination of the party's prominent military leader, Fouad Shukr, who was killed in an Israeli raid on the southern suburb of Beirut last month.

Hezbollah media announced that it fired more than 100 missiles from Lebanon towards Western Galilee, in response to the sudden Israeli attack in the early hours of Sunday morning.
