Sherlock Holmes and The Secret Weapon 1942 (Rathbone and Bruce)

Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon is the fourth in the Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce series of 14 Sherlock Holmes films which updated the characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to the then present day. A 1942 spy film where Professor Moriarty (Atwill) steals and attempts to sell a new bomb sight to Nazi Germany. The film is loosely based on Conan Doyle's "The Adventure of the Dancing Men" and features a coded message and a luminous paint plot. Lionel Atwill as Professor Moriarty, Kaaren Verne as Charlotte Eberli, William Post Jr. as Dr Franz Tobel, Dennis Hoey as Inspector Lestrade and Mary Gordon as Mrs. Hudson.
