Bird of Paradise is a 1932 US. romantic adventure drama movie directed by King Vidor. The stars are Dolores del Río and Joel McCrea.
When a young South Seas sailor falls overboard, the beautiful daughter of a Polynesian king dives in and saves his life. Thus begins the romance of Johnny and Luana. Because of a scene in which Delores Del Rio was swimming naked ( she was wearing a flesh-colored G string) the movie was poorly received and lost about $250K. Since then, it has grown to become a classic.
