Hello everyone! It’s Courtenay Hachey of Chowders and Shake-Ups, and today, we’re making a quick and easy: Beer Cheese Chowder recipe with no compromise on the flavor. The ingredients are simple, and everyone is sure to love it, so let’s get right to it.

Our ingredients are:

• 12 to 16 ounces of bacon that your grocery carries. Cut the strips into half.
For the DNA, aka juicy potatoes, you’ll need:
• One large or two small yellow onions, medium dice.
• Three average-sized Yukon gold potatoes about three inches, or two russets, chopped into three-quarter-inch cubes.
• Six to eight sprigs of fresh thyme or one teaspoon dried.
• Two bay leaves
• One teaspoon salt
• Half teaspoon black pepper.
• Quarter a cup of chicken stock or water.
Now, for the remaining base and finishing ingredients.
• Two celery stalks, medium dice.
• Two big or three small carrots, medium dice.
• One teaspoon of granulated garlic and granulated onion.
• Two quarts chicken stock.
• Eight ounces of your favorite lager.
• One cup grated sharp cheddar.
• One cup of grated Gruyere or two cups of extra sharp cheddar if Gruyere is a bit pricey.
• Half to one cup, half and half, or heavy cream, depending on how silky you like your chowder.
