WEF 'Young Global Leader', Ida Auken, blames rising prices on human population growth, and the fact that more people are "entering the middle class, all wanting cars, mobile phones, computers, [and] eating meat".

"We are seven billion people now on the planet. We're going up to nine billion. Think about three billion people entering the middle class, all wanting cars, mobile phones, computers, eating meat."

"This is a huge pressure on the resources we have, and that's why the prices have come up so dramatically the last fifteen years."
