What Is "Israeli"?

Being "Israeli" can mean the People who are descendants of the Hebrew/Israelite/Judean civilization (aka a member of Am Israel), or it can also mean an individual that is part of the current revived civilization of Israel.

Non-Jews have always lived amongst the Jewish civilization and were not only treated with dignity and respect, but even honored as heroes when fighting along side the Jewish People against their foreign enemies. A Jewish civilization called Israel, does not mean a civilization that excludes other inhabitants of the land. Narratives which seek to manipulate and extract immoral realities out of a complex historical contexts, are not attempting to truly heal the broken system that has and causes many too many to suffer. Suffering should never be used as political capital to undermine a group's identity or legitimacy, nor should it be used to create a comparison and compete in victimhood to push for moral superiority.

The current structures and system in place are clearly flawed and are a consequence of several wars, failed policies of leaders, foreign involvement, baseless hatred, and a century of ethnic conflict. The Hebrew word “Tikun" means to "repair" or to "heal". Tikun in this land will not be accomplished through physical or ideological wars, but will come from recognition, reconciliation, and revolutionizing the way we think, act, and structure our authentic society.
