Canada - Minister Chrystia Freeland on carbon capture, potential railway shutdown – August 21, 2024

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland holds a news conference in Fort Saskatchewan, Alta., to highlight Shell Canada’s Polaris carbon capture project at its Scotford refinery. The minister faces questions from reporters about a potential work stoppage as Canada’s two largest railway companies, Canadian National Railway (CN) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), continue labour negotiations with the Teamsters union.
