A Brief Book Review of The Devil You Know by Neil Lancaster.
It's another outing ( the fifth) for DS Max Craigie and his colleagues from the Policing Standards Reassurance Team. This time career criminal Davie Hardie is offering information to the police regarding a missing person from six years ago who he claims was murdered. Hardie will show the police where the body is buried in return for immunity, a transfer to an open prison and an assurance that Craigie and his team are not involved.
Max Craigie thinks this is a very bad idea and sure enough , it turns out to be one !. A gripping thriller where Max and his team struggle to find out who is trying to cover up this murder and who they can trust within their own organisation. A good police procedural drama with lots of action and well drawn , believable characters.
