They are tall water wheels with box-like water collection compartments embedded around their edge. As the river flows, the aqueduct can carry the water to supply buildings, gardens and farmlands.
The Wheels are over a thousand years old. They did get some damage from bombing in the war but still continue to work and supply water to the City and local villages.
