Exposed: 150 years of warming down the drain

Hey everyone. Steve Milloy here. Today’s forecast for Washington DC is for 150 years of global warming down the drain. On August 21 1874, 150 years ago today, Washington DC hit a high temperature of 100°F. But despite 150 years of emissions and 150 years of urban heat island construction, today’s high temperature will only be in the 70s.

Climate hoaxers will say that I’m just cherry-picking a convenient date and that the obvious trend is emissions-caused warming. That is nonsense. The basic con of the climate hoax is that every emission warms the planet and drives more warming of the planet through positive feedback loops.

That con is why they say we have to get to net zero emissions. It’s why Al Gore suggested at the end of his movie “An Inconvenient Truth”that you reduce your so-called carbon footprint by, say, drying your clothes on a clothesline. It’s why the Washington Post recommends you eat lentils versus cheeseburgers. It’s why John Kerry says we have to suck 1.6 trillion tons of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere at a cost in the quadrillions of dollars. Every emission matters, they claim.

But as we can see from the past 150 years, despite all the emissions and despite Washington DC’s 5-10°F urban heat island effect, today will be 25°F cooler than it was 150 years ago in 1874.
