Brad Dharma, Psychedelic Detective

Brad Dharma, Psychedelic Detective was an animated series that appeared as part of the third season of Liquid Television on MTV in 1994. The segments were created by John Moynihan and Greg Pair, based on Moynihan’s original comic strips.

Character Description

Dharma, voiced by Dick Rodstein, is a private detective who lives in Timbuktu, a heavily populated city (30 million people) ruled by an elite called the “Hipster Elders”. He is depicted as a trench coat- and fedora-wearing man with long, stringy hair and eyes that appear to have no pupils, similar to Little Orphan Annie’s.

Series Overview

The series follows Dharma as he investigates cases involving corrupt public officials and a mysterious organization called The Beelzebub Brotherhood. With his psychic abilities and unconventional methods, Dharma navigates the surreal and psychedelic world of Timbuktu, often finding himself entangled in bizarre and fantastical situations.
