Jewish Student Struggles With Zionism

Jews are the collective indigenous People of Judea, and Zionism is the movement that achieved their aspirations to return home to Israel.

Anyone that willingly conflates the struggles and aspirations of the Jewish People to the suffering of another, is not only using another group's suffering as political ammunition, but ultimately either seeking to attack any form of Jewish empowerment, or succumbing and just accepting that it's better to side with the growing hatred and attacks on the Jewish People than to stand up against anti-Semitism or for Jewish rights.

These two Stanford students enter the conversation, condemning Zionism and attaching it to an ethnic conflict that has nothing to do with struggles and aspirations of the Jewish People. They also proudly announce that they support a two-state solution.

After questioning them further and providing some added context, they change their position and now believe that Zionism is not what they had originally said it was and that Zionist, or those that support Jewish rights, should be clarifying the term. Furthermore, one also states that imposing any type of solution is actually counter-productive to finding a resolution.

So why do so many oppose Zionism if they are not against it, or support a two-state solution if imposing solutions is not effective, and what truly matters is bringing the two populations together?

Well, too many are pre-programed to say what they think sounds nice and will get them to be liked and accepted, along with avoiding support for other things that they may actually agree with, but turn their backs on it because they value acceptance over justice.

Fighting for justice is not meant to be easy.

At the end of the day, these two individuals were caught off-guard with a random interview on the Stanford campus, and are clearly two very nice and intelligent young women. However, their answers reveal a deeper issue that has plagued today’s world. Manipulation of facts, apathy, and the desire to be liked at the cost of doing the right thing, are undercover culprits that has caused this generation to become so extremely polarized and dysfunctional.

There are those who do not know what Zionism is and it must be clarified to them, since they are not responsible for the misinformation they have received. Those who do know what Zionism is, know the struggles of the Jewish People, have no excuse to turn their backs on the term, it's definition, and what it has achieved for Jews today.

This video has not been released to embarrass or to put anyone on the spot. The purpose of this video is to educate viewers on what types of conversations are taking place amongst the youth on college campuses today, while breaking down the deeper problems that exist with the rhetoric that is being used.
